Unveiling
CD IBERIA 1967
The history of CD Iberia is a reflection of the spirit of the Spanish immigrant community in New York, especially those who arrived from Galicia in the 1940s, fleeing the political and social situation after the Spanish Civil War. This migratory movement led to the creation of several Spanish communities in the city, Astoria, in Queens, being one of the most vibrant and active.

In this neighborhood, the Galician community united around its traditions and passions, and soccer, as Spain's national sport, became one of the main forms of cultural expression. In 1967, CD Iberia was founded to provide Spaniards in New York with a team in which they could compete and keep their passion for soccer alive. The creation of the club was an important step in fostering social cohesion and cultural identity among members of the community.
More than a soccer team
Beyond sporting achievements, CD Iberia has remained true to its roots, being a pillar of the Spanish community in New York. Through events, activities and the promotion of Spanish culture, the club continues to be a reference for new generations, strengthening the connection between the past and the present.

Today, CD Iberia is not only a soccer team, but a symbol of identity and belonging for all those who share a passion for the sport. Its history is a testament to the power of soccer to bring people together and celebrate the rich culture of the Spanish community in the United States.
